A reading moves through three layers, from what is openly listed to what only inference reveals.

The First Layer

What is openly listed: the registers, filings and records that name a person directly.

The Second Layer

What connects across sources: the same name, address or identifier appearing in more than one place.

The Third Layer

What inference reveals: the conclusions that become visible only when the pieces are read together.
