A short, honest account of what the desk's work delivers, what it does not, and what is asked of a client before work begins.

What the desk delivers

A precise account of what is currently knowable about a client through public and aggregated sources; a considered response, through the right administrative channels, where action is sensible; and a continuous watch over the settled position so that significant changes are noticed early.

What the desk does not guarantee

The desk does not guarantee that information once visible can be made invisible. Some records are by their nature permanent. The desk does not guarantee outcomes in matters that depend on the decision of an external party, such as a publisher, court, or platform. The desk does not provide legal, financial, tax, or investment advice, and recommends that those questions be taken to qualified professionals.

Due diligence

Before work begins the desk completes its own due diligence on a prospective client and on the matter to be addressed. The form this takes depends on the matter. The desk reserves the right to decline a matter at any stage. This is not a courtesy; it is how the desk maintains its standing.

Engagement

A working relationship begins only when confirmed in writing, on terms agreed for the matter. The desk works for a small number of clients at a time.
